Free WordPress plugin · v1.0.1

Send reliable email from WordPress

WordPress’ default mail() is unreliable and lands in spam. Route all outgoing email through your own SMTP server — with an on-page test button that shows you exactly what the server says.

Why your mail ends up in spam

Without proper SMTP authentication, email from WordPress is easy to flag — and there’s no way to see why. SITC WP SMTP fixes both problems.

Ditch mail() for real SMTP

Hooks into WordPress’ built-in mailer via phpmailer_init. Once enabled, mail() is never called again.

Test email with instant feedback

A one-click test sends a real message through your configuration and prints any error the SMTP server returns — authentication failures, connection problems, you name it.

Setup in under a minute

One settings page under Settings → SMTP: host, port, encryption (None/SSL/TLS), credentials, and an optional From address. That’s it.

Compatible with your provider

Works with Gmail SMTP, SendGrid, your hosting provider’s relay, or any server that speaks SMTP — TLS on 587, SSL on 465, or no encryption at all.

Failures you can actually see

Regular (non-test) mail failures are written to the PHP error log via error_log() — no more silent drops.

Lightweight & clean uninstall

A small, focused plugin. Delete it and every setting is removed from your database — nothing left behind.

Up and running in three steps

1

Install & activate

Upload to /wp-content/plugins/ or install from the Plugins screen, then activate.

2

Enter your SMTP details

Go to Settings → SMTP, add host, port, encryption, and credentials. Hit Send Test Email to verify.

3

Enable & forget

Tick Enable SMTP, save, and every outgoing WordPress email goes through your server.

Stop losing emails to the spam folder

Free, open source, and self-hosted — your email data stays on your own server. Get SITC WP SMTP and send mail that actually arrives.
